Colorado Mountain College Cisco Academy

Through an innovative global partnership with schools, Cisco Systems is preparing students for the demands and enormous opportunities of the information economy while creating a highly qualified talent pool of network professionals. We provide the following curriculum:

Cisco Certified Network Associate Program

The Cisco Certified Network Associate program at Colorado Mountain College is a complete, four-course program that covers the principles and practices necessary to design, build, and maintain networks capable of supporting national and global organizations. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are prepared to take the industry-standard CCNA examination. The Cisco Certified Network Associate program is offered at 3 campus locations; Glenwood Springs, Summit County, and Rifle.

Cisco Certified Network Professional

The Cisco Certified Network Professional program is a complete, four-course program that covers advanced routing and switching technologies. Protocols covered in these courses include multi-area OSPF, ISIS, BGP, Frame-Relay, ISDN, 802.3, 802.1q, RIPv2, and EIGRP. Upon successful completion of each CCNP course, graduates are prepared to take the corresponding CCNP exam. The Cisco Certified Network Professional program is offered at the Glenwood Center, Roaring Fork Campus.

Fundamentals of IT Essentials I: PC Hardware and Software

IT Essentials I: PC Hardware and Software, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard Company, presents an in-depth exposure to computer hardware and operating systems. Students learn the functionality of hardware and software components as well as suggested best practices in maintenance, and safety issues. Through hands on activities and labs, students learn how to assemble and configure a computer, install operating systems and software, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems. In addition, an introduction to networking is included. This course helps students prepare for CompTIA's A+ certification.

Course: CNG127 IT Essentials I: PC Hardware and Software (5 credits)

Fundamentals of IT Essentials II: PC Hardware and Software

IT Essentials II: Network+ and NOS, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard Company, presents an in-depth exposure to networks and network operating systems. Students are introduced to multi-user, multi-tasking network operating systems including Unix, Linux, Windows 200x and network client software. This course helps students prepare for CompTIA's Net+ certification.
